Description

The 330101‑30‑10‑02‑05 probe is part of the Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Eddy‑Current Proximity Transducer series. These probes are designed for high‑reliability monitoring of rotating machinery, providing

non‑contacting vibration or shaft‐position measurement. The probe is intended to be used with the associated extension cable and Proximitor® sensor in the transducer system.

In short: this is a robust industrial eddy‑current proximity probe designed for measuring shaft vibration or

displacement in heavy machinery, part of a trusted

 transducer system.


FAQ


Q2: Is this probe compatible with older 3300 or 190 series transducer systems?
A: The 3300 XL series is backward compatible in terms of electrical/connector with many earlier 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm components.

However, mixing components may limit performance to the older spec. Also note mounting, physical size, environmental

 ratings may differ. It is prudent to use all matched components (probe + extension cable + Proximitor sensor)

from the same series for optimal performance.



Q3: What is the nominal gap (probe tip to target) and how critical is it?
A: For the 3300 XL 8 mm series, many performance specs are given at a gap of 1.27 mm (50 mils) to a target of AISI 4140 steel.

 Deviations in gap or target material may affect accuracy, linear range, scale factor.It is critical to adhere

 to the recommended gap range for best performance.


Q4: Can this probe measure both vibration and static position?
A: Yes — by nature of eddy‑current proximity technology, the probe can measure dynamic changes (vibration)

and static displacement (position) changes as long as the system downstream (e.g., monitoring

electronics) is configured accordingly. The datasheet states the system is capable

of both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) measurements.
